Introduction

Singapore International School Srinakarin, SISS is a private school committed to responding to the educational needs of both the international and national community in Thailand. The school was established in September 2007 with the name of Evergreen International School. SISS is affiliated with Singapore International School of Bangkok (SISB) since January 2009. We use A Framework for a Kindergarten Curriculum in Singapore which is published by Preschool Unit of Ministry of Education Singapore to serve our pupils from Nursery 1 (2 yrs. Old) through Kindergarten 2 (5 yrs. Old) level. On academic year of 2010, SISS will open Primary level. The medium of instructions are English, Chinese and Thai.

How it is Now

The terms Kindergarten, Nursery and Early Years are often used interchangeably. However, "Kindergarten" refers specifically to the education program for children in the year prior to Grade 1. "Early Years" refers to the broad coordinated system of local and provincial programs that meet the developmental and special education needs of young children and their families. The Nursery and Kindergarten programs are an important part of Early Years.
We aim to bring out the full potential of our children through a holistic approach as we believe in the development of the whole child. We strive to provide an inclusive environment by taking into consideration each and every child’s unique strengths and differences. Our Kindergarten's curriculum is based mainly on the Integrated Thematic Approach supported by fun, objective-driven hands on learning centers. Field trips are incorporated into our themes to encourage children to learn from the world outside their classroom. Our children are exposed to various activities in this conducive learning environment which allows them to freely explore, imagine, create and learn. The approach combines the simplified Chinese with Western principles approaches of interactive learning experiences.
